Visceral Congestion
The viscera is defined as the soft internal organs of the body especially those contained within the abdominal and thoracic cavities. In visceral congestion of the liver and spleen, the external use of iodine is often used. Visceral pain is one of the most common reasons for a patient to seek medical attention. There are five main characteristics of visceral pain and include that the pain is not evoked from all viscera, and not linked to visceral injury. The other three are usually referring to other locations, are poorly localized, and finally are accompanied by motor and autonomic reflexes.
