A lot of times hives are the cause of welts. It could be a condition known as dermatographism. Sensitive skin people tend to notice this more often. Sometimes not drinking enough water or putting the right lotion on can cause this skin irritation. You may also be allergic to scents and dyes in soaps and detergents.
