Blocked Toilet
A blocked toilet is not a good look in your bathroom. Its very important to keep your toilet unclogged at all times. When you are inviting guest over you don't want surprises coming up out of your toilet. Even when you don't have guest over, you should want to keep the toilet unblock. Sometimes toilets get so blocked up they actually need heavy maintenance done. If you have a septic tank you have to keep your toilet unblocked other wise you're going to have a mess on your hands.

We recently had a severely blocked toilet and nothing worked to unblock it. I was reluctant to call the plumber out at vast cost. My cousin suggested I pour down 2 litres of Coke, real Coke not Coke Zero or Diet Coke.

Thanks for your answer, Gasman. The unit sounds like it's still working though, as water from other appliances is going through the pipes with no problem. Could it just be that the toilet is blocked somewhere before the macerator unit?
