Due to the shift in demographics of large metropolitan cities in 1975, Harley Greenfield, Fred Love, and Ed Seidner, focused their business on the sale of sofabeds. The three manufacturing reps and long-time friends, well acquainted with the furniture industry, were convinced that there was a strong desire to use small living quarters as efficiently as possible. What's more younger people just striking out have to work within a budget and the businessmen knew they could offer a better product at a lower price. Through unique marketing campaigns and its focus on attracting a wider range of people from various socioeconomic classes in the 1970's and 1980's, Jennifer Convertibles became a $15 million business. Today, Jennifer Convertibles, Inc. is considered one of the largest retailers of sofabeds in the United States.
