Propagate Petunia from Stem Cuttings
You can propagate Petunias from the stem cuttings if you follow a simple guideline. First, always cut the stem at directly at the base of another branch or leaf. Next you can put the stem that you have cut into a cup of water or directly into a pot of dirt to allow it to grow roots. A great idea for planting the stem in dirt is to put a little bit of honey on the bottom of it. This gives the plant food to feed on while helping to keep it down in the dirt. 1. Most annuals propagate easily via stem cuttings. You don't even need roottone although it does not hurt. I don't like to use sand, unless you get rough builders sand, but evenso, you can buy 1 cubic feet bags of SEED STARTING MIXTURES at any garden center which are specially formulated for this purpose.
