A: It sounds like your mock orange is in need a rejuvenation pruning. To do that, and not lose the vigor of the plant, I suggest that you wait until next spring and prune before it re-leafs. Get long-handled loppers and reach into the base of the plant and cut everything out, as close to the ground as possible.
