Color Compliments Yellow
Technically complimentary colors are colors that are opposite on the color wheel. Yellow and violet are complimentary colors. If you are looking for a less technical, and fashionable meaning, there are many colors that will work. Any colors works well with a black and white combination. You many also want to try other shades of yellow and orange. If you are looking for a calm look try a light blue. For a healthy earthy look try shades of green.

Magentas and purples are blueish-reds. But our perception of yellow is completely different from our perception of either blue or green.
