Color Compliments Yellow

Technically complimentary colors are colors that are opposite on the color wheel. Yellow and violet are complimentary colors. If you are looking for a less technical, and fashionable meaning, there are many colors that will work. Any colors works well with a black and white combination. You many also want to try other shades of yellow and orange. If you are looking for a calm look try a light blue. For a healthy earthy look try shades of green.

One last word on the interesting color yellow. It is easy to visualize two of the mixes of the primary colors of light. Cyan can easily be seen as a greenish-blue. Magentas and purples are blueish-reds. But our perception of yellow is completely different from our perception of either blue or green.
