Kinds of Paragraph

A paragraph is a unit of thought which is arranged around an idea or a theme and the sentences are grouped to deal with the theme or idea. There are different types of paragraphs and knowledge of their functions will greatly improve ones writing. Some examples include descriptiive using mostly verbs and should be logical; definition paragraph which outlines the meaning, function and origin of things. There is also the process analysis type which deals with a sequential guide as to the 'how-to' get something done. Others types include narration, persuasion, classiffication or comparision, exposition and narration.
