Wikipedia the Free Encyclopedia

Wikipedia is the hugely popular free encyclopedia available online. The premise of Wikipedia is for users to create an account and become contributors to the site. This is done by creating or adding to previously created encyclopedia entries. The topics found on Wikipedia are extremely vast and range from the break down of laws and regulations to extensive celebrity biographies. Wikipedia is filled with a lot of relevant information and provides external links to more specific detais on searched topics. One downside that people have complained about is the ease of editing Wikipedia entries, which allows room for errors and false information. Many entries are locked and can not be edited by the general public for this exact reason. It doesn't hurt to double check any statistics or important information gathered from any online source, including Wikipedia.
