Boiling Point Water Experiment

The boiling point is a physical property of an element or substance. It refers to the point at which the element subject to heat and is mechanically transformed into vapor under standard atmospheric pressure at sea level. The boiling point of water is 100 in degree Celsius and 212 in degree Fahrenheit. To test the physical boiling point property of water in an experiment you would need the following: Bunsen burner, tripod, wire gauze, glass flask or bottle, standard thermometer, and water. Remember, the water has to be mineral or filtered water that has to be free of heavy minerals and elements because this can lower the boiling point result. Place the water in the flask, allow it to stand on the wire gauze with the tripod and turn on the heat of the Bunsen burner. Watch the thermometer as its reading continues to rise and reach the water's boiling point.
