Different Types of Discrimination

Discrimination is defined as the power of making fine distinctions. This word has received much bad press but the act of discriminating within itself is not a bad thing. You discriminate on a daily basis when you decide between the red shirt and blue jeans or the brown shirt and white shorts. The problem comes in when people are being discriminated against based on illegitimate and unethical factors. Hence there are now numerous types of unfavorable discrimation such as: age discrimination, disability discrimination, equal pay and compensation discrimination, national origin discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, religious discrimination, gender based discrimination, and sexual orientation based discrimination. The list really could go on and on since any factor can be used for discriminating purposes.
