Distance Formula

The distance formula is a variant of the Pythagorean Theorem used in geometry. Use it by first identify two points on a graph. Finding the length of two lines in relation to each other by attempting to recognize when they intersect on a right angle. line one is a, line two is b. Apply the Pythagorean Theorem that C^2= A^2+B^2 to find the length of the third and longest line (c). This line is the distance between points A and B. Distance can also be found with two plotted points with the formula d= the square root of (x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2.
