Extinct Animals in the Last 100 Years

There have been six extinct animals in the last 100 years. Since 1910 the world has lost the Passenger Pigeon, their extinction has been blamed on over hunting. Carolina Parakeet lost due to challenges with their diet and habitat. Darwin's Galapagos Mouse, introduction of rats onto the islands caused the extinction of the mouse because of competition for food and the rats brought new diseases. Toolache Wallaby, extinct due to hunting by humans and predatory animals and by changes in their habitat. Black Andean Toad, it is unsure what exactly caused these toads to die off, but pollution, habitat destruction and fungal infections have been blamed, and lastly. the Thick-billed Ground-dove, its demise is thought to be due to new predators introduced into its habitat and the destruction of the forests where it lived.
