List of Vowel Digraphs

A vowel digraph usually has two vowels side by side in a word. The first vowel has a long sound and the second one is silent. A children's quote parents usually say to help childen remember this fact about pronunciation is "When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking." This rule of course, does not apply to dipthongs. The vowel digraphs are: ee, oa, ea, ai, and ay. Some sample words using those vowel digraphs: tree, moat, lean, paid, may. http://www.phonicsworld.com/voweldigraph.html
