Name a Extinct Animal
Unfortunately, it's not hard to name an extinct animal. Many multitudes of species no longer dwell on the earth, and more still are on the verge or are endangered. The dodo bird is a good example of an extinct animal. It once lived in large populations on an island close to Madagascar. The birds had adapted comfortably to their surrounding environment, until human explorers came along in the 1500s and began hunting the bird. By the mid 1600's there were no more. This online gallery and information site, http://www.50birds.com/extan/gextanimals1.htm has stories and pictures of more animals that no longer exist, including over 50 species of birds, the tasmanian wolf, and the stellar's sea cow.
