I want to calculate payback period in excel. Both Simple as well as discounted payback period. So can you suggest me any formula or VBA to directly calculate the same? Answer; Mona; The best explanation I can give you is to tell you to look up NPER in the help section.

If I use your formula on 10 million in principle at 360 months payback period and 10% annual interest rate I get a payment of $87,757.16 per month in both cases. Maybe you should check what you are comparing the excel answer to to see if it is calculating the same way.
