Solve Radical Equations

Radical equations are most easily thought of as equations that contain a square root. Now, these equations may instead contain a cube root, or a root of a higher power, but the process for solving them is still the same. Generally these equations are given as part of an alegbra or trigonometry problem. As with any algebra problem, the key to solving these equations is to make sure that your operation "undoes" the radical and is done to all parts of the equation at the same time. For example, in an equation involving a square root, you would simply square (raise to the power of 2) the entire equation, thus "undoing" the radical. Make sure that you do check your answers in the original equation, because the act of squaring the equation can generate extraneous answers.
