branches of physical science

The branches of physical sciences includes physics, kinetics, mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, chemistry, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, and analytical chemistry. Physics plus chemistry overlaps to create physical chemistry. Astronomy and physics overlap creating astrophysics. Physical sciences deal with matter and energy and allow us to describe the material universe in terms of weight, mass, volume, and other standard, objective measures. For all of these the scientific method comes into play as a discovery process. You observe a phenomenon in the physical world, a hypothesis (explanation) is formed for the phenomenon, then the hypothesis is tested by objective and reproducible experiments.
