Catholic Prayers of the Faithful
Catholic prayers of the faithful most often are called "General Intercessions". These prayers entreat God on behalf of the people and then needs everywhere. Ordinarily the intentions include prayer for th church; for the world and the nation; for those oppressed by any kind of need; and for the local community. These prayers are said at the end of the Liturgy of the Word. These prayers are stated by the the priest, then deacon or another member of the congregation and then the people respond with short invocation such as "Lord, hear our prayer". Finally the priest says "Lord, hear our prayer".
