Characteristics of Jezebel deriving directly from the Bible would be a very sensual and powerful princess who controlled her subjects with a strong and often malicious hand. Jezebel encouraged and participated in what was seen as sexually immoral acts. Thus, she was seen as a harlot or a whore. Modern day feminist views of Jezebel portray her as a strong-minded woman in control of her own sexuality and comfortable with her power.
