The cost of raising a child to age 18 is put at about $250,000. This is covered expenses for "average" parents raising a child. Do we spoil our children too much or is this an effect of todays economy. The USDA has made the estimates since 1960, when the estimated cost was $25,300. These costs include housing, food, transportation, clothing, health, child care, education, and of course miscellaneous.
