The Crips are primarily an African-American gang that was founded in Los Angeles in 1969. It is now a loosely connected gang that includes several sets across the nation exceeding over 30,000 members. They are primarily known for their use of the colors blue and white in their clothing....blue jeans, white shirts or beads, etc. any mainstream clothing that combines blue, white or blue and white can and will be worn. The Crips have a long history of being the forerunners with crack and are heavily into the drug trades and trafficking.
