Facts about Rahab in Bible
Rahab was a prostitute whose house was built in the wall of Jericho. She entertained Israelite spies and helped them to escape from their enemies. For protecting the Israelites, Rahab and her family were spared when the city was later captured. Rahab is regarded as a hero in the New Testament. She is also mentioned in Matthew 1:5 as being in the direct line of genealogy of Jesus.
