Facts about the Declaration of Independence
There are several interesting facts about the Declaration of Independence. For example, Thomas Jefferson wanted to denounce slavery in the document. Unfortunately, congressmen from the southern states overruled his request and slavery is not mentioned. Strangely, Thomas Jefferson owned several slaves and was said to have had a child with one of his slaves.
