Georgia State Prisons

The main prison in Georgia is Georgia State Prison (GSP). It is located on Highway 147, just outside of Reidsville, Georgia. This was the first prison in the United States to receive accreditation by the American Medical Association (AMA) for its health care services. GSP's current warden is Stephen Upton who watches over 1000 inmates. The prisons in Georgia hold nearly 60,000 adults and supervise over 150,000 probationers.
