God's Favor

We all wonder how we can gain God's favor. God tells us in the Bible that he has standards and requirements for mankind. John 17:3 says, "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."(taken from the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures). So, we are required to take in knowledge or study the Bible to learn about God and Jesus Christ and by doing that we can learn God's requirements and see how we can measure up or gain his favor. Luke 9:23 says that anyone wanting to follow Christ must disown himself and pick up his torture stake. This means that life as a Christian will not be an easy one, but you have to abandon your former worldly desires to commit fleshly sins and try to live a clean life according to God's standards. Let the God's advice from the Bible mold and change you for the better. God only expects your best from you and he'll accept nothing less.
