I can gain up to 8 pounds easily in one day. I can gain 4+ from breakfast alone. I'm barely trying to lose weight. I only want to lose like 10 more lbs. I would not suggest weighing yourself every day. If someone were to gain weight in the course of one day they may be more likely to restrict their eating severely.

i rarely weigh myself more than once a day, but when i do, i don't fluctuate much more than a pound. also, my weight is not lowest first thing in the morning. it seems to be lowest late in the afternoon. ... I weigh at the same time every day, and ignore what the scale at the doctors office says when I go in for late appts.

i got to where i did not weigh myself every day no matter what. i could fluctuate 5 pounds in a single 8 hour day. up to 12 pounds over a weekend. it drove me nuts. i now only get weighed once a month and do not worry about it much. ... I have a burger now and then as a treat but do not eat much meat. I stick to chicken, turkey and white ... There are many things that can make your weight fluctuate and if you weigh in every day and have not lost you will get discouraged. If you go on a binge and gain weight don’t scold yourself, just start over again.

I almost feel like its cheating, since I only weigh that much for about 5 minutes out of every day. But I also feel like it's probably the most accurate - comparing apples to apples, so to speak. If you weigh yourself, only do so once a week, and be sure to choose the same time of day and wear the same amount of clothes each time.
