The Illuminati was a secret society founding in 1775 that's members included intellectuals, politics and people of power. The name "Illuminati" translates as "people of the the light". As far as most historians are concerned, The Illuminati fell apart in 1795. Of course, there are many who believe the conspiracy theories that say The Illuminati is still very well organized. They would even go as far as to say that for US President Thomas Jefferson and inventor Ben Franklin were among the members of The Illuminati.
