Responsive litanies are something that almost every church congregation uses. This is when the pastor is saying a prayer like a conversation that everyone else is also involved in. Hi Ralph, Responsive readings are a GREAT THING!!! It involves the people directly. It's important to involve folks in more than just singing the songs. Standing for the reading of the Word (a tradition going back to the return from Babylon and even before) and the actual responding by reading OF the Word is good.
