Stalking Behavior

Stalking behavior is the deliberate harrassment of a person following a break-up of a relationship. The stalker may show up where they know the ex will be in public, hoping to see them. They may also follow the person and watch them from a distance noting everything that is done. Gifts, love letters and other items may be sent that are unwanted and unwelcomed by the recipient. The stalker sticks with the delusion that they will win the person back and never considers the idea that the relationship is truly over. They delude themselves into believing that the person is simply playing hard-to-get and will give in soon. The stalker is obsessed with their target and sometimes excessively jealous when no reason for jealousy exists. The stalker sometimes resorts to manipulative behavior to get attention. This can include threats of suicide or blackmail if the stalkers wishes aren't met to their satisfaction. Stalking behavior inevitably ends in violence if not stopped before it proceeds further. Most stalkers are not stopped by orders of protection or arrests by the police. Often victims must move and disappear completely from the area the stalker lives in, and yet they still live in fear and have to look over their shoulder wondering if or when the stalker will show up again. http://www.stalkingbehavior.com/default.htm
