Violation of Probation in Florida

A violation of probation proceeding in Florida is much more different than being charged with a new crime for the first time. Because you have already been sentenced to probation, you will have more severe consquences than if you were charged with a new crime. After you are placed on probation in Florida, you are given the conditions of your probation by the judge or a probation officer to which you must follow. If for some reason you disobey the conditions, you run the risk of violating your probation. If you violate your probation in Florida, a judge can do one of three things. The judge can reinstate your probation, modify your probation or revoke your probation and simply sentence you to do jail time.
