History of the Ashes

History of the ashes dates back to 1877. The ashes is the oldest international cricket game and is played between Australia and England. Currently Australia has won 130 ashes tests, England 95, and 86 have been a draw. The prize for winning the ashes is a replica of an urn holding the ashes of a baseball that was given to English captain Hon Ivo Bligh in 1882. This prize is presented to the captain of the winning cricket team. The original urn, holding the original ashes never leaves Lord's, which is known to be the home of cricket.
