Detroit Diesel is the manufacturer of on-highway medium and heavy-duty diesel engines. They are a subsidiary of Daimler and have a worldwide network of more than 800 authorized distributor and dealer locations. Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Detroit Diesel engages in the design, manufacture, sale and service of diesel engines. Detroit Diesel was formed in 1938 under the name GM Diesel Division.
