Filing Assault Charges
An assault, also referred to as battery, is when someone hits you physically or attempts to so, or threatens you to the extent that you fear for your life. To file assault charges you should immediately contact the police as soon as you have been threatened or attacked physically. This involves giving the police the details of the incident or attack. On their part, the police will ask you some questions to find out where you were hit, how the incident was started, if there were any witnesses and if you had tried to escape. The police will also examine the physical evidence of the injury you received.
