I am just wondering if anyone could let me know about how long it takes to go into true labor with me being 2 centimeters and my cervix 70% softened. My due date is exactly one week away and I don't know how much longer I can wait.

A woman could be dilated to 2 centimeters for weeks before she has her baby. Or she could have preterm labor that dilates her to 4 centimeters and then go past her due date before her cervix changes anymore. There are no absolutes in determining when a baby will be born.

My OB checked me and told me that I was, indeed in labor and that I was 2-3 centimeters dilated. My doctor told me to call my husband and my best friend Paula who was my coach, because I was going to have the C-section as soon as they stopped my labor.

A Birth Story ... He gave me a cervical exam to see if I had dilated anymore. He said I was still 1 to 1 1/2 centimeters dilated and 75% effaced. I was 1 centimeter and 50% effaced the last time I was checked 2 days ago when I went into the OB Triage Emergency Room for false labor.

Okay, I went into the hospital this morning with c ... Basically not strong enough to get you dilated more than 2. So what I would do since this sounds like your first pregnancy is walk!!! Also try drinking hot red raspberry tea that can cause you to start contracting.
