Looking for a .357 magnum revolver, I first looked to Smith and Wesson for a 686 seven shot stainless model. At Sportsmans Warehouse in Rogers, Arkansas (before they went bankrupt) I checked out the Smith 686. I was disappointed with the finish on the gun as the entire gun had visible swirls in the stainless steel finish.

Ruger GP-100 357 Magnum 4-inch Stainless Revolver ... After much research, i came to the conclusion that if you could only have one handgun, it should be some kind of .357 caliber revolver. That way, you can use both .38 Special and full .357 cartridges (they both have the same bullet diameter).
