With extractors, high flow muffler, 18deg BTDC ignition timing and performance air filter, my 15 year old Prelude managed a best of 16.126s for the 1/4 mile (400m). This time was done at Calder Park raceway, here is the TIMESLIP. ... The Prelude isn't designed as a drag car, but a low 16s 1/4 mile is still respectable...

Year: 1991 (3rd Generation) ... I shortened my shifter by 1.5 inches, making the shift throw feel a lot like a 4th Generation Prelude. I'm very satisfied with how it worked out. Shifting is still quite easy, and I can complete my shifts much faster when I need to.

The exterior design of the 3rd Generation Prelude is also worth mentioning. The aim for the designers was high visibility, giving the driver a better awareness of the road. The hoodline was exceptionally low, allowing an unrivaled forward visibility that made this Prelude a joy to drive.

3rd generation ECU error codes and ECU location. To access the codes (if any) turn the ignition key to the on position but do not start the car. Locate the indicator LED and count the number of flashes. Single digit codes are indicated by a series of short flashes.
