When alternating my glance back and forth between the Quartz and ClearType samples (try it yourself in the pixel-for-pixel accurate screen grab above), I feel like I should wipe the mud away or get corrective lenses to view the Quartz text (and no, I don't need corrective lenses, my near sight is fine).

Usually, I’ve noticed that the smaller the font is, the more blurred the Quartz looks compared to ClearType. I think it is really a matter of personal preference. On Windows, the fonts look much crisper. On OS X, the fonts look much fuller.

This complicates things when it comes to creating all-around compatible, good looking web typography, as one would have to test it in at least 3 different situations: aliased, ClearType, Quartz. This is not a big deal, though, seeing how web pages should be tested in a variety of conditions anyway.
