Billy Casper is the main character in the novel A Kestrel for a Knave by Barry Hines. Billy is about 13 or 14. The place where the book is set and where Billy lives is Barnsley(this is in south Yorkshire) was a large mining town. ... I am amazed by the quality of writing showcased by this review and most of its comments.
