The Abyssal Zone is one of the many benthic zones we have highlighted to describe the deep oceans. This particular zone is found at depths of 2,000 to 6,000 meters (6,560 to 19,680 feet) and stays in perpetual darkness.

The deepest part of the ocean is the abyssal zone. The abyssal zone can go down to 6000m and more. In the abyssal zone the pressure is so great that it would turn you into a smooth paste. At just 1100m deep the pressure would feel like 12 000kg pushing on every square centimeter of your body.

The Abyssal Zone is approx. 1500 to 10,000 meters deep, which is the deepest part of the ocean! No human would be able to survive that great of an amount of pressure. Our heads would probably explode! The Abyssal Zone is very cold since it is so deep and is reached by very little sunlight.
