265 Responses to Acquiring Network Address ... acquiring network address is basicaly translated to an ip address 0.0.0.0, if a winxp does not have the sp2 it will just say invalid ip and the ip is 0.0.0.0 here is the procedure to correct this ... I'm having this problem of 'acquiring network address' loop, too.

P4 1.8ghz 500+mb ram Geforce II videocard Cnet Pro network, windows xp sp2, using dial up. Whenever I restart the computer my Local Area Connection icon starts moving in the sys tray.
