The plated lizard is an excellent swimmer and diver. G. flavigularis like to lounge in the sun. They have to in order to get the body temperature to a certain level or else they cant carry through with day activities.

My husband and I got an African Plated Lizard from his little brother who got him from one of his teachers. We think he is about 5 years old. We got him in June and we've been feeding him meal worms, crickets, and mandarin oranges about 2-3 times a week.
