Anemones, recognized by their flower-like shape, have stinging cells on their tentacles. Like their cousin the jellyfish, anemones paralyze their prey and draw them into their mouths to be digested. Anemones are carnivores and will eat just about any animal that comes close enough to be caught by its tentacles.

The sea anemone can attach itself to rocks or coral. In the center of the sea anemone is their mouth. In order for the sea anemone to eat, they must wait for their food to swim by. Then they sting it with their tentacles, and then push it into their mouth.

Provides information on different types of anemones and how to care for them. ... Bad Points- This anemone will eat your fish! (not your clownfish) Dwarf angels, small tangs, blennies and small shrimp seem to be prone to getting eaten. Pseudochromis, hawkfish and some others don't seem to have a problem.

05-13-2001, 03:05 AM ... Join Date: Apr 2001 ... You can feed Sebae Anemones frozen krill. Thaw them well and squeeze all the air out of the krill. Also brine shimp (frozen or live) will be taken. Critters usually know to stay away from the anemones. It may have had something to do with the molt.
