ARCO gas is watered down crap AntiCoup2k Aug-28-03 01:48 PM #2 ... The difference is usually in the percentage of alcohol, quality (i.e. level of dirt and other contaminants), and condition of the station's tanks. If you're not sure, change stations and see if things improve.

Dont Buy Gas from Arco AMPM. this is low quality gas that with time will damage your cars fueling system also this gas burns quicker than other high quality gas. Arco purchases the fuel from Mexico they use the same fuel that a know Gas station in m ... Arco gas is cheaper because they don't take credit cards.

For some reason, ARCO gas always seems to be 10-20 cents cheaper than other gas stations, even when they are in the exact same intersection. I have heard rumors throughout my life that is is due to possible lower quality of gas in ARCO.

I'm curious about the gas because the Wawa (a convenience store like 7 Eleven) is always really busy --- i.e. fresh gas --- and they have pretty good prices, but is their gas like Arco gas back home (In other words, lower on the totem pole.)? ... I put Arco gas in my 95 Accord for many years (then i switched when Costco started selling gas a few years ago). Some may cringe but my son is driving it now with over 220k miles.

Well the thing not to confuse here is: 1) Quality of Gas, 2)Quality of Gas STATION. 89 Octance gas is 89 Octane gas at any service station, BUT each chain add's their own 'additives' for cleaner burning, more economical..blah, ... I have only one time put Arco gas in my Z and I put in 92 and got the best gas mileage.

quality of gas at Arco ... My coworkers have said that the gas at the Arco stations is a poor quality and will ruin your car. True? ... Today, I filled up at Exxon at 3.099 (only 4 cents higher than cash at Arco); Net cost for gas was $ 2.94405 (cheaper than the cheapest Fueltracker price)
