The honey bees are still really busy as seen in the bottom picture. Are those the beginnings of two seed pods in the top photo? If so is there any chance they'll mature??? After much worrying we've decided to prune the brugs as Monika suggested and take them to my Mom's darkish 50 degree F basement for the winter.

Bees may not have a good reputation because of their ability to sting, but many are important and beneficial. Honey bees are the bees with the best public image. We see them as industrious ("busy as a bee") and we appreciate their main product, honey, as setting the standard for all that is wonderful and sweet.
