All dogs mouth’s are filthy. There is not such thing as a “clean” dog’s mouth. It is amazing to see the comments here which continue to believe that dogs have cleaner mouths than humans, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

The precise question was: Is a dog's mouth cleaner than a human's? The answer to that is no, too, and basically for the reasons you've already cited. As we all know, dogs aren't particularly fussy about where they put their tongues or what goes into their mouths.

Finally, dogs and cats generally don't greet each other mouth-to-mouth as people often do, but I'm not sure their style is really any cleaner than ours.

A human has one of the most deadly mouths there is. We have very nasty bacterium in our mouths, which are part of our immune system. This is one reason we are supposed to chew our food well, because the saliva carries these "germs"...

Dogs' mouths are infinitely cleaner than A human's, however, it is not a sterile vessel. There are some variables. Is the dog healthy, and bot what ... I taught my children, if you feel we are not being fair to you, we can discuss it, but your development is untimately our responsibility, so the final decision has to be ours.
