The Atlas E-Z Seal is a type the Lightning jar. The difference is a raised lip to help keep the jar from cracking. This was called the "Strong Shoulder" and was similar to the mason jar. The cracking was a common problem with shoulder seal jars.

Your jar may very well say Atlas, however they are not canning jars as we know them. They were made specifically for Classico. I have dozens of the Bortolli pasta jars which say Atlas and Mason on the same jar. They are all 24 oz.

Overall Hazel-Atlas jars weren’t overly remarkable but for a few. In particular collectors should watch for Atlas Strong Shoulder Mason (which was designed to have a durable neck to keep it from cracking, and typically came in a blue hue).

The beautifully embossed "Christmas Mason" jars were produced right around 1890. About 1892 and probably even earlier, Ball began adding their name to some of the 1858 type jars, some on front and others on the back in all block letters.
