Our assignment was to conduct a survey determining the number of people that have a dominant trait of earlobe attachment. The dominant trait is free earlobes and the recessive trait is attached earlobes. We surveyed 187 people within John Burke and out of these people 115 had the dominant trait of having free earlobes.

The mode of inheritance of ear wax type, ear lobe attachment and tongue rolling ability were studied in 77 families with a total of 293 children. The results clearly showed that the dry ear wax type and the attached ear lobe type represent the homozygous state for two pairs of autosomal recessive genes.
