These three biblical definitions cover the meanings in Scripture of the term backsliding. The other day I was looking at this subject and the Lord showed me something in the Scriptures I never realized before.

Let us also notice Samson for another case of backsliding. He was to be a Nazarite from his birth, a person set apart for God. In using the word Nazarite I have no reference to a denomination but according to Scripture a Nazarite was a person set apart for God.

Every once I a while we run across a backsliding Christian. Some backslide a little, some a lot, some even go so far as to deny Jesus by saying things like "The New Testament ... All Scripture is quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version.
