I’ve been watching TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, a docu-reality TV series that follows very young girls competing in beauty pageants, mostly centered in the South. I’ve also seen the documentary Painted Babies and the 2006 feature film Little Miss Sunshine that sheds some light on pageants for the very young.
